Meet The Founders

David Ryan - A Passion For Life & Adventure

David is the co-founder of peaksGO. Originally from Warrington, David is happily married to Gemma and has two young sons, William and Edward. David spent most of his early years exploring the outdoors and everything it had to offer. From building rope swings, dens and rafts to going on weekend long adventures with his friends.

After stumbling into a sales role at 19, David spent the next 21 years in various target driven environments, climbing the corporate ladder with a great deal success. But with this success came the many pressures of the corporate world and the inevitable stress comes with those pressures.

Whilst in the throes of bringing up his family David started to explore the Peak District National Park. After a very short time he realised the health benefits that came with exercise in the great outdoors. He made it his mission in life to explore every inch of the Peaks in order to be able to share its hidden wonders with his boys. After a decade of adventures David finally took the leap of faith and set up peaksGO, promoting the many health benefits that come with a day out in the Peak District on an adventure.

Both of David’s boys were diagnosed with Autism early on in life, but as you can see from the video below that went viral in 2016, their autism doesn't define them. After setting up peaksGO David quickly set about forming a strong alliance with Autism East Midlands, helping to raise awareness and funds to assist in all the good things the charity is trying to achieve.

Chris Wright - Promoting The Benefits Of The Great Outdoors

Chris is the co-founder of peaksGO. Originally from Lincoln Chris has an 11-year-old daughter Niamh and crazy Chocolate Labrador called Nellie. Chris spent his youth outdoors as an active member of the local scout and venture group. This involved spending most weekends out and about walking, camping and building the odd fire.

The next 20 years were in a target driven environment staring at computer screens and spreadsheets all day and generally leading a very unhealthy stress filled lifestyle. When his daughter Niamh was born he decided that it was probably time to get fit and healthy again. This is when he started walking in the Peak District with his close friend David. He found that his physical and mental health increased dramatically.

This resulted in Chris taking up running and completing the 2012 London Marathon raising money and awareness for the Mental Health Foundation. This leads us to today where a now 45-year-old Chris has left the corporate world, to setup peaksGO with co-founder David to help people improve their mental and physical wellbeing through activities within the Derbyshire Peak District.
